"Straight to my heart!"

"Bang Bang" by K'naan (ft. Adam Levine) is not the most meaningful or dignified music out there. But the beat is catchy and I just love the amazing voice that Adam Levine (from Maroon 5) has. It's such a nice and sunny day here and I was in the mood for something different. So, if you do happen to hear this song, don't judge me. I think it is a decent catchy song that anyone can be in the mood for at one time or another.

"Did You Get My Message?"

"Did You Get My Message?" is from Jason Mraz's album "Mr. A-Z". It's a couple years old but it remains my favorite album of his to date.

I was talking with a friend yesterday and I was going to ask her if she received my text and ended up singing it to her in the form of this song. "Did ya get my messaaaaage??? oooohooh" She obviously thought that I was crazy because it turned out that she didn't know the song.

Regardless, it's a great song and easily related to. Jason Mraz sings with both great vocals and funky, speedy lyrics. Give it a try!

"Goodbye Lullaby"

I bought Avril Lavigne's new album "Goodbye Lullaby" the day it came out and while some songs are very impressive lyrically and vocally, other tracks were clearly pushed on to it and/or altered by the company. Avril said that the only reason her album took so long to be released was because the record company had a different image in mind for her.

So many artists these days have their music synthesized and partied up by the record companies who just want to create shallow, beat driven singles on the radio. Therefore, the album seems to be very inconsistent. I felt that it could actually be broken into two parts.

Regardless, it's a great album and my favorites include "Stop Standing There", "Wish You Were Here" (Though a little repetitive after a while), "Push" (Which feels very 'Let Go'ish to me", and "I Love You".

"In this head my thoughts are deep"

I recently found my Avril Lavigne CD "Let Go" from back in 2002 and re-fell in love with it immediately. I haven't listened to this album in about 5 years and yet I knew all the words to every song. My favorite has always been "My World".  I can relate to the chorus so much and the song just has a sing-along vibe.

Chorus:
Can't help if I space in a daze,
My eyes tune out the other way,
I may switch off and go in a daydream,
In this head my thoughts are deep,
But sometimes I can't even speak,
Would someone be and not pretend? I'm off again in my World

"Well it started with your hips..."

Today's song choice is a fun and upbeat tune that you may or may not have heard before. After your first listen, it will most likely leave you dying to learn the words so that you may sing along as well as dance around your living room in black-mail worthy fashion.

So get on to Youtube or whatever and take a listen to "First Dance" by Never Shout Never. Because it is that much fun.

A Blustery Day

Today was a wet and dreary day. I felt a gentle song was in order. So, today's selection was "Homesick" by Kings of Convenience. It's a gentle and simplistic choice that can calm any crappy weather induced feelings of annoyance. So chill out and find a good song to relax to. :)

Today's Addiction: "And Run"

"And Run" by He is We is a fun and quirky little song that I recently discovered when my room-mate shared the album "My Forever" with me.

This song does not require any time to get started and immediately hooked me with a series of "oh-Oh-oh-Oh-oh-Oh-oh-ooh's" It is not a song for dancing in your living room but it does add a spring to your step.

I went for a walk today around my University campus while this song was playing and it definitely enhanced the experience. So, now that you have read about it, check it out! The rest of the album is amazing as well.
